Safety

For us, safety is about more than just safe attractions—it’s about your entire experience with us. Through clear procedures, trained staff, and proactive safety efforts every day, we do everything we can to ensure you feel safe throughout your visit. Here, we’ll tell you more about the work that may be the least visible, but means the most.

Safety at our attractions

All of our attractions are inspected and documented on an ongoing basis through daily, weekly, and seasonal procedures in accordance with applicable standards. They are also inspected annually by an independent inspector.

We never open an attraction unless we are completely certain that it is safe to use. If necessary, we may temporarily pause or close an attraction—for example, during technical inspections or due to weather conditions such as thunderstorms or strong winds—all for your safety. Temporary closures may therefore occur as a natural part of our safety procedures and do not affect the validity of your ticket.

Many of our attractions have specific safety requirements, such as height and age restrictions, weight limits, or the requirement for an accompanying adult. These requirements are often set by the attraction’s manufacturer and are in place for your safety—they are not something we compromise on.

For safety and hygiene reasons, you must wear clothing on your upper and lower body when using our land-based attractions. Many of our more adventurous attractions also require you to wear shoes.

Water Safety at Leksand Sommarland

At our water park and Wipeout, lifeguards are on duty to ensure a pleasant and safe experience. They are trained in water rescue, CPR (cardiopulmonary resuscitation), and first aid, and focus primarily on prevention by explaining our rules and regulations and how to use our pools and water attractions safely.

To ensure everyone has a fun and safe day, you as a guest have a responsibility to help make that happen. Children must always be supervised by an adult who can swim, and you are responsible for the safety of yourself and your party. Our pool attendants are not security guards; they are there to guide, inform, and help create a safe and pleasant environment—they are pool attendants, not lifeguards.

By following our swimming rules, you help create a safe environment—so that everyone can enjoy a fun and safe day at the pool at Leksand Sommarland.

Our security organization

We work proactively every day to create a safe and secure environment for all our guests. Overall responsibility lies with our CEO, while the park manager oversees daily safety operations together with our supervisors and staff. Everyone who works with us has clear roles and safety training, and during the park’s opening hours, there is always a safety team on site to support both guests and staff, handle incidents, and contribute to a safe and pleasant environment throughout the park.

Handling of Incidents and Accidents

All of our employees contribute to safety in the park by identifying and reporting potential hazards. Employees in leadership roles are specially trained to document, assess, and classify risks and incidents, and our safety team follows up on and addresses all reported issues.

We work actively to identify potential issues early on—often before they become a problem. By analyzing even minor incidents, we can detect patterns and improve safety. If you notice anything that might pose a risk, please speak with our staff—your observations are important and help us make the park even safer.

If something happens at an attraction, we take immediate action. Sometimes we temporarily pause the attraction while we investigate what happened—even if most indications suggest that the incident is not related to the attraction. We do this to gather information and ensure that everything is safe before we reopen.

Healthcare

Our first-aid station is located in the water park, where you can receive assistance from trained medical staff.

If you need immediate assistance, always contact the nearest staff member. All of our lifeguards and supervisors are trained in CPR (cardiopulmonary resuscitation), and our safety team has special training to handle situations that require a rapid response. We ensure that the right help is on the scene quickly.

Defibrillators are available in the infirmary, in our mobile medical vehicle, and at the front desk at Leksand Resort Camping.

If you are injured during your visit, it is important that you notify our staff so that we can assist you and handle the situation appropriately. If you need to leave the park early due to an injury, please let us know before you leave—this will allow us to file an injury report and provide you with a case number.
